homesick
You know the feeling, right?
I am not sure it feels the same for everyone but for me, there is a deep, deep, empty pit in my stomach. It is the deep longing for some place… or someone.
And it can be paralyzing.
Several weeks ago, I saw an old friend at church who was visiting. I was thrilled to see him and catch up a little as he shared about his family. That morning when I left church, that deep, empty pit consumed me. I was homesick for his family who moved hundreds of miles away.
The strange thing… we just got to know them right before they moved.
I don’t know why God allows some people to be in our lives for long periods of times and others it is for a very short time. But I do know that these friends touched our hearts before God called them away.
As I think about this, it reminds me to cherish the time God gives us. Time here on earth. Time where we live. Time with the people God places around us.
How are you spending your time? I pray we each use our time wisely - living truth and loving boldly - and making the most of every opportunity.
