gratitude

Anyone out there ever felt overwhelmed before?

As I think about that word, I think about the things that overwhelm me… and most of them, come with a sort of negativity. Feeling overwhelmed can often set me into a world of paralyzation… I seriously just stop. I stop working and just stew in my thoughts of “overwhelmed-ness.” I spend a lot of time thinking about what needs to be done instead of doing what needs to be done. Sounds productive, doesn’t it?

But overwhelmed can also have a strong emotional effect on something - in a positive way.

That has been my experience over the last few months. When our Journey 28:19’s Board of Directors decided to partner directly with Ekklesia Academy in Sendafa, Ethiopia, we had numerous volunteers jump into action. I am simply overwhelmed with gratitude to God for leading, guiding, and directing, for my incredibly patient, loving, and supportive family (Thank you, Ben, Hannah, Grace, and Ryan!), for family and friends who have stepped in to make everything come together - we have a communication specialist, financial advisor, website manager, sponsorship coordinator, lawyer, cultural advisor, prayer warriors, business team, graphic designer, mentors, researchers, encouragers… you name it, we’ve got it! What a team we have, working together for Kingdom purposes. This. This is what the capital “C'“ church does.

And today. Today, I am going to kick back with a cup of coffee and reflect on all the beautiful people who have made this ministry what it is. It is with overwhelmed gratitude that I say…

Thank you.
