sometimes you just need to play

Good morning!  Or should I say, “Good night.”  Actually it is both – depending on where you are.  Here is it 6:28am and there it is 10:29pm.   Yesterday was our third day at Ekklesia.  Although we have enjoyed each day getting to know the children, yesterday was by far my favorite.  We spent most of our time outside learning about the things they do.  They were amazing and patient teachers as they taught us some of their dances.  They raced Terry and Drew across the courtyard and jumped rope.  Children latched on and snuggled with many of our teammates.  And they were never shy when the cameras came out!  There were so many wonderful moments, a great deal of shared laughter, and many opportunities to bond.

Today we will head to Sendafa for our last two home visits.  There is no school today as it is Ethiopia’s Independence Day.   We will miss the children, but look forward to a day with each other.  Simeret, our Children’s HopeChest leader plans to take us out for ice cream.

More to come!
