mission trip 2015

We are gearing up for our first mission trip to start building relationships with the children and staff at Ekklesia School and CarePoint as well as the larger Sendafa community.  Words cannot express how excited I am to return and introduce others to the amazing work happening in Ethiopia!  And although I have been there, I believe it will somehow be different this time. Maybe because this is where we will return each year, continuing to build and strengthen our relationships with the community of Sendafa.

In preparation for the trip, we are going to need some helping hands to create care packages. Care packages will be given to each of the children at the CarePoint and will include items the children need such as a t-shirt, underwear, and socks, as well as a small gift and snack.

What I am most excited about is that each package will contain a personal letter and picture from their sponsor or someone who wishes to encourage a child.   We will hand deliver these packages, share the photos, and read each letter individually.  This is where the relationship piece, which is so unique to Children's HopeChest, begins.  And this is one of the reasons we chose to work with Children's HopeChest.  We look forward to the relationships to be built, the love to be shared, and the transformation which will take place in their community and in ours.

Look for information on how to get involved in early February.
