a quick ethiopia update
I wanted to give a quick update as I didn't post anything while I was in Ethiopia.
When we arrived, we learned of protesting that took place southeast of Addis. By Tuesday evening we received word that the protests had moved to the outskirts of Addis as well as in Sendafa, where the children we sponsor are. We learned we would not be able to visit the children on our scheduled days - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and the visit the following week was uncertain. As things continued to escalate, the decision was made to cancel the team trip. The remaining team members would not travel to Ethiopia and the three of us who were already in country were asked to exit for our safety as well as those we were working with.
So after five days on ground in Ethiopia, our small team of three returned from Ethiopia last night and early this morning. I do plan to update you on the trip but wanted to give this quick update.
We were well taken care of and protected during our time in Ethiopia. We are so grateful to all our brothers and sisters in Christ who watched out for us in the midst of all that is happening in their country. Please join me in praying. This is a very difficult, unsettling, and sad time for them.
