Some of our most recent trip members have agreed to share some of their thoughts after having some time to process the latest trip. First up - Melanie Buford. Melanie was one of the three who had the opportunity to travel a week before the team was to arrive.
I am so grateful to this lady for her faith and her friendship. She is the kind of friend you could call and say, "Let's go grab coffee." Unfortunately, a 431 mile distance between us makes that difficult... but there is always FaceTime!
Thanks, Melanie, for sharing heart!
When I think about our trip, I think of a puzzle with a lot of missing pieces. God sometimes only allows us to see a piece of the puzzle, not the whole picture. And because I can’t see the whole picture, I’m tempted to say, "This doesn’t look right.” I’m quick to forget that He knows everything and that ALL things work together for good to those who love the Lord. So, if God says a Particular piece is NECESSARY and it goes in a Particular PLACE, then we know it is the RiGHT fit even if I don’t understand it.
Deuteronomy 32:3-4 says:
For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe GREATNESS to our God! The Rock, his work is PERFECT, for all his ways are JUST. A God of FAITHFULNESS, and without iniquity, just and upright is He.
This is my prayer for our friends in Ethiopia. That they holdfast to this truth and that God give them many opportunities to proclaim His name.
To God Be The Glory
