what an amazing trip it's been!
So many of you have signed up to read my blog and I have yet to post. Please accept my sincerest apologies. No excuses... just updates. Maybe more than one to try and catch up!
What a trip we have had so far! So many things to share but thought I would give some highlights.
Meeting all the children probably ranks at the top of the list! It is so fun to see the kids and recognize them from their pictures. I love seeing the sponsored kiddos and connecting them to each of you! Those traveling with us have been able to visit the homes of the sponsored children. I hope to get more pictures posted, but the internet uploading process is - well, slow.
We learned that Ekklesia has moved to a temporary location with a much bigger space. There are classrooms and a common area for lunch and activities. We also visited the land they plan to move to for the start of the next school year. The new land is one hectare (2.47 acres) or the size of an international rugby field. I cannot wait to travel back next year to see their new school!
The team has been great - flexible and patient and full of love for everyone they encounter. It has been a joy working with each of them and the gifts they offer.
As we continue to work with Sister Almaz (the woman who started Ekklesia School), I can't help but be moved. She is a strong woman who depends completely on the Lord and is the most selfless individual I have ever met. A true inspiration!
